Snowman

During Christmas eve I walked along the Carnaby Street and there are lots of Snowmans hanging across the building there.

It was very nice and a lot of people taking photos there, of coz including me la.

The decorations this year were very nice too.

It was a bit colder this year than last year. Recorded -1 degrees at night for a few days.

I can see the thin ice on the ground in the morning :-)

Weather

Well, last weekend had a big change in temperature, 10 degrees different in a day.

London now is cooler and dry ... a sense of winter, not autumn feel any more.

I remembered 2 weeks earlier I went to the Thames Flood Barrier, I walked from Noth Woolwich passing Silvertown, it was a day with good sunshine.

I crossed Thames River via the foot subway (similar to the one in Greenwich) and then took the free ferry back to North Woolwich.

There was an Old Station Museum when I looked at the map, but when I asked the people where it was and nobody knew that.

Luckily I found that later and it was a nice old train station.

訪客

近來到我家的訪客真是有不同種類, 大概因為我家附近有很多花草樹木和近河?

加上我家裡有個大魚缸和些小植物, 所以引來不小昆蟲.

除了細蚊之外, 大蚊也飛進我家, 幸好大的只是草蚊, 不針我. 但飛來飛去, 蠻討厭的, 所以某天只幹掉一隻, 今晚的另一隻就趕它出窗外.

但細蚊卻毫不客氣, 晚晚玩針對,總是在替我抽血後,還在我耳邊炫耀一番. 氣得我要親手送它們一程. 之後還要清理現場. 唉!

另一個訪客是幏面超人 - 草蜢, 分別在不同的兩天到訪, 己經有多年沒見青綠色的草蜢了. 捨不得幹掉它, 而它的反應也很快, 和它追遂了一會才用膠蓋活捉呢 但看了它幾眼後, 還是下逐客令, 把它送出窗外.

至於兩個爬牆高手, 大小Spiderman 都難逃一劫, 一一被我送回去從前的地方.

這個夏天, 就是欠缺我喜歡的訪客 -- 小鳥

My new Wallpaper

Have cleaned my fish tank today, I also added and reshuffled the sea grass in the fish tank, hope the fish like it.

I originally just want to take a photo of the fish tank and save as my new wallpaper, and surprisingly my fish make a funny pose from the left hand side.  

It was very funny haha.

I miss you Wendy's

I finally had a burger meal set from Wendy's in US.

I recalled over 10-12 years since my last burger meal in Wendy's Hong Kong. It was in Causeway bay.

They closed all restaurants in Hong Kong around 1996 if I remembered correctly.

I missed her burger for long time and now I could tasted it again in US. I bought a triple cheese combo, USD 6.09.

It was a nice one but if I compare this with Burger King's triple burger today, I still think Burger King's combo is better.

Anyway, I miss you Wendy's !

步行回家

這幾天的天氣己經漸漸熱起來, 昨天還有25度加陽光. 夏天真的來了!

今天做了一件特別的事, 就是不乘坐地鐵, 改為步行回家

從公司步行回家好像沒什麽特別, 但今天忽然有這個念頭卻是一大突破.

別看輕這個步行, 全長約7.5km, 加上走錯方向和沒有找捷徑, 起碼走了8km啦

用了一小時三十五分鐘, 中等速度啦, 沿途經過九個地鐵站, 而利用Embankment 的行人橋橫越泰唔士河, 風景真不錯哩

回到家時, 小腿也有些酸軟噢!

作為exercise, 其實也不錯!

Construction

The re-construction method in London is very nice. You can see through the following photos.

The inside of the buidling was removed completely and the front wall of the buidling is maintained and preserved. So when they empty everything inside, they will rebuild the whole content of the building. So next time you see the old outlook of a buidling in London, you should also check the inside setup.

Sunset

The Sunset near my house is very nice. It is just 15 minutes walk to this small hill.

I do not remember the name of that place, but it is high enough to have a bird view of the surrounding area.

Blue Fin Buidling

I visited the Blue Fin Building this wednesday near central London, there was a cross divisional activities - Digital Day and I was invited to join this event. It was a nice day with various demos and presentations on digital media, the building was very nice, good design and modern. The facilities there were very good too. After the event, there was a drink at the top of the building, the position there was very nice too.

Of course I took some photos la :-)

Fish Pond

I went to a fish pond for a walk last Sunday and it was a very nice afternoon. I brought my camera along and took a 130 degrees wide photo of the pond, see below. It was a small pond but if you looked at every details surrounding there, it took some time. I just spent 2 hours there taking pictures as well as catching fishes. This time I caught 7 small baby fishes. It was not easy to catch them. Each of them was very small, I put them in the tank, only 3mm length, smaller than thunmbnail. Bottom photo was a macro zoom of one of them (don't know how many times it was magnified)

昨天提到 Joey 的另一首好聽的歌 -> 我的驕傲

這是2003 年的作品了, 一首動人抒情的小品，在 Joey 溫柔的歌聲配合美妙的旋律下，此曲成為當時全城最受歡迎的情歌，亦是一地產發展商的廣告歌,當時看了這個廣告,令我也想買一個單位呢。 真實,這首歌是改編自一首英文歌 Proud of you, 由 Fiona 來演譯也十分好聽 ,「我的驕傲」的國語歌版本 是「揮著翅膀的女孩」! 下面就是四個 不同的 versions 啦!

已經聽這首歌近五個月了, 今晚再聽還是很喜歡它.

repeat 的一段十分易上口, 也是heat 的原因. 就像好幾年前(2003)的 「我的驕傲」一樣受歡迎.

Flowers

When the temperature rises to around 10 degrees, flowers can be seen in a lot of places.

In fact, it is colder this April than last year. So hopefully we will see more flowers in May.

I like the green and also highlighted with normal flowers.

The fresh feeling is so attractive, I like the smell of Spring too. (come with the flowers)

今晚學做蕃薯糖水, 結果就去了唐人街買咗蕃薯和彊, 卻忘記了買糖!

Cold

Good Weather
After the snowing on Sunday, basically the weather is back to sunny but cold in the morning. It is 2 degrees in the morning and around 10 in the afternoon. 
This is the time where people easily catch a cold. and I read from newspaper that snowing in April like Sunday was not usual, last one happen in 1989 which was about 20 years! 
HaHa I am lucky have a chance to see that. People were happy to make snowman in different places, There's a picture in newspaper in Regent's park that 2 ladies made a big snowman there.

下雪噢!

昨晚約十點回到倫敦之前, 機師告訢我們晚上較寒冷, 而明早更會下雪.

我下機時還是不太相信, 因為回家時也不覺寒冷, 所以特別去yahoo 和 BBC 網站 check check. 也沒有預測下雪呢! 所以也忘記算了. 

今早醒來, 八點多, 本想多睡一點, 星期日嘛! 而且 Mass 是11:30am, 所以還有時間.

但看看窗外, 嘩! 白雪飄飄, 真的下雪噢! 而且不是小雪粒, 而是密密的飄雪啊!

草地上已是白色一片, 也看不了草啦. 四月下雪, 這還是三年來的第一次吧!

都係機場的天氣預測準確呢

忍不住快速穿了厚衫, 風衣頸巾, 帶着我的 Cameras 去攝錄一番, hehe, 這次下雪一直下到午後一點, 算很長的啦!
